France reached the World Cup final three times. First time was in 1998, when they reached the final as hosts and won it for the first time, beating Brazil in the final. In the Round of 16, France won against Paraguay, scoring in extra time. The quarter-final was harder for Les Bleus: here they beat Italy with penalties. Next, they faced Croatia and won 2-1 in the semi-final and reached the final, where they beat Brazil 3-0.


After only 8 years, Franche reached the World Cup final again. However, this time they lost to Italy with penalties.


France was not going to wait a long time to win the second World Cup title. In 2018, in the group stage they beat Australia, Peru and played a draw against Denmark. In the next round, they beat Argentina 4-3. Next was Uruguay: 2-0 victory for France. In the semi-final, France beat Belgium 1-0, reaching the final. Here, they played and beat Croatia: 4-2. And France are 2-time World Cup champions.
